The company, which received the green light to set up its new marijuana dispensary in Buena Vista, has a seven-year history in the legal cannabis business.
The city’s trustees held a drawing at their regular meeting on May 10, during which Mayor Duff Lacy drew a name from 20 qualified applicants. PCG One LLC, led by Sean Davis, emerged victorious. Should he continue to steer the process of opening the store, Ascend Cannabis will join as the second leisure store in the city limits.
Voters approved a measure to allow retail cannabis in the city on November 3, as well as a five percent tax on it. Ascend currently operates the only medical marijuana dispensary in Buena Vista.
Like Ascend, PCG One plans to offer both recreational and medicinal cannabis products. It has 180 days to open the facility with a one-time renewal.
PCG One is a family business headquartered in Colorado Springs. A native of Colorado, Davis opened one of the country’s first recreational marijuana pharmacies in Telluride in 2014. Since then, he has opened eight stores, four cultivation, three distribution and three manufacturing facilities in Colorado, California, Oklahoma and Oregon. PCG One welcomes brands such as Telluride Bud Company, Oregon Bud Company, Orchid, and Stash.
In 2015, Davis started a greenhouse in Park County near Como that will supply the recreational flower for the new pharmacy in Buena Vista.
In addition, PCG One recently acquired a Denver office capable of growing recreational and medicinal cannabis, as well as producing food and concentrates.
“For us at PCG One LLC, there is nothing like the opportunity to join the Buena Vista community,” said Davis. “We look forward to the city; We are happy that we can be a part of it. PCG One believes that everything starts and ends with the community. . . Our mission is to serve through wellness and offer the best quality recreational and medicinal cannabis in a welcoming, educated environment. “
Should PCG One fail to move forward with its plans, the city will take a different name from the 19 other claimants: PJ Investment Group LLC, San Juan Strains, Inc., James Fitzgerald, Golden Meds Mergerco LLC, JWJ Inc., RJJ Buena Vista, LLC , PI Buena Vista LLC (Pioneer Interests Inc.), PG Retail I, LLC dba Naturmedizin, Ark Valley Group LLC, Kirill Merkulov, Jessica Reuven, Olga Merkulov, Adam Paul-Reuven, Igor Tsalyuk, Margarita Tsalyuk, Alexander Tsalyuk, The Dispensary , Fred Woerner IV and BV Enterprises Limited.
